When Anxiety, Anger, and Depressed Mood Take Over
Feeling sad, worried, upset, and not in control of your moods can be scary.
And many teens don't like to admit to others what is really going on for them and how they really feel, especially to adults. That's just how your teens operate.
Talk to me. I promise to listen, not to judge, and help you sort things out.
Counselling isn’t a dirty word (although it would be more fun if it were). Counselling is just talking to someone you become comfortable with who has some skills that she can teach you, so you can be in better control of your emotions, actions, and reactions, helping you to be the happier and more relaxed person you want to be.
I will help you first label these overwhelming feelings, then we will figure out together what is creating your high emotions. Then thirdly what to do to change how you feel and therefore react.
Positive changes will then start happening, and you will begin, with this help, to be more in control of your experiences, have more positive moods, smoother relationships, and better overall enjoyment in your life.
Try counseling to make a change; you’ll be happy you did.
Dealing with Trauma
Have you experienced something bad that you can’t forget or let go of?
Do you think about it over and over?
Do you feel you can’t control these thoughts or your reactions to them?
Sometimes we cannot deal with an awful event, such as an accident, an attack, abuse, or something more private or personal, and it sticks with us even when we so badly want it to go away.
Using a straightforward and gentle technique such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as well as specific stress management techniques, together we can put that memory and its reactions away so that it doesn’t bug you every day, but becomes simply a bad and distant memory that happened a long time ago.
